Danbury Woman Charged With DWI During July 4th Detail In NY

Police agencies throughout Dutchess County arrested more than two dozen motorists as part of a designed Fourth of July crackdown.

County, state and local police agencies throughout Dutchess teamed up between Wednesday, July 3, and Sunday, July 7 to conduct impaired drivers details that consisted of “saturation patrols” throughout the county on top of their regular patrols.

In total, during the crackdown, 25 arrests were made, including 23 for impaired drivers.

According to police, “the objective of this continued enforcement is to revitalize and enhance the visibility of the STOP-DWI Program through coordinated multi-agency impaired driving enforcement detail targeting identified statewide crackdown periods.” 

  • Damon Simmons, 20, of Germantown, was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful of marijuana during a traffic stop in Red Hook.
  • Kari Lawson, 26, of Lake Katrine, was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor, following a traffic stop in Red Hook.
  • Timothy Hempel, 20, of Tivoli, as charged with DWI and DWI with a blood alcohol content greater than .08 percent, both misdemeanors, during a stop in Red Hook.
  • Darren Villani, 25, of Beacon, was charged with DWI and aggravated DWI during a traffic stop in the Town of Poughkeepsie.
  • Thomas Norbet, 45, of Sharon, Connecticut, was charged with DWI in the Village of Millerton after being involved in a crash involving injuries.
  • William Ball III, 28, of Amenia was charged with DWI and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, both felonies, as well as operating without a court-ordered interlock device, a misdemeanor, after he was involved in a crash in Dover.
  • Alejandro Tardella, 21, of East Fishkill, was charged with DWI and aggravated DWI with a blood alcohol content greater than .18 percent after crashing his vehicle in Beekman.
  • Samuel Slinskey, 58, of Pleasant Valley, was charged with DWI and criminal possession of a controlled stop after being busted during a stop in Poughkeepsie.
  • Alphonse Gargano, 42, of Poughkeepsie, was charged with DWI after being stopped in the Town of Poughkeepsie.
  • Jessica Jean, 31, of Middletown, was charged with DWI after being stopped in the City of Poughkeepsie.
  • Colin Sunday, 24, of Beekman, was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs and alcohol, a misdemeanor in the City of Poughkeepsie.
  • Cristiano Agosto-Perez, 40, of Millerton, was charged with DWI and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, both felonies, and operating a motor vehicle without a court-ordered ignition interlock device, a misdemeanor, during a traffic stop in Pleasant Valley.
  • Richard Nicholson II, 42, of Beacon, was charged with DWI, DWI with a blood alcohol content greater than .08 and criminal possession of a controlled substance all misdemeanors; as well as unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation, in the Town of Poughkeepsie.
  • Julio Ramirez, 38, of the Bronx, was charged with a DWI by police in Dover.
  • Martine Mitchell, 32, of Poughkeepsie, was charged with DWI, a misdemeanor, and aggravated DWI under Leandra’s Law for having children in the car during a stop in Wappinger;
  • William Barry, 55, of Rhinebeck, was charged with DWI after being involved in a motor vehicle crash in Rhinebeck.
  • Rachel Ursitti, 29, of Danbury, was charged with DWI in the Town of Dover.
  • Geddes Paulsen, 30, of Pleasant Valley was charged with DWI and aggravated DWI, both felonies by police in Pleasant Valley.
  • Colin Remick, 27, of Fishkilll, was charged with DWI and aggravated DWI with a blood alcohol content greater than .18 percent, both misdemeanors, in Fishkill.
  • Ricardo Lopez, 39, of Wappingers Falls, was charged with DWI by police in Wappinger.
  • Dalton Desimone, 27, of Wappingers Falls, was charged with DWI by police in the Town of LaGrange.
  • Tyler Crute, 19, of Hyde Park, was charged with DWI during a stop in Hyde Park.
  • An 18-year-old man whose name was not released was charged with a DWI in Pawling.

“Participation in the Crackdown Grant project continues to support coordinated law enforcement efforts during high-risk Holiday periods that have historically proven to be the most dangerous and deadly on our roadways,” Dutchess County STOP-DWI Coordinator William Johnson said. 

“The single focus and intent of these efforts is to send a clear message that if you choose to drive impaired in Dutchess County there is an unwavering commitment to identify, apprehend, and prosecute those who do.  Impaired driving offenses are 100% preventable if you simply plan to get home safely.”
